Overview of CuteFTP :

CuteFTP is a Windows based File Transfer Protocol (FTP) client that allows users to utilize the capabilities of FTP without having to know all the details of the protocol itself. CuteFTP simplifies FTP by offering a user-friendly Windows interface instead of a cumbersome command line utility. CuteFTP gives novice PC users the ability to upload, download and edit files on remote FTP servers around the world. CuteFTP's powerful features include:

Quick Connect Bar
Redesigned for faster and easier connections.

Local Bookmarks
Complementary to the existing "Remote Bookmarks", makes it easier to find and use frequently used files and directories.

Site to Site Transfers
Allows transfering files from one FTP site to another.

Scheduling
Automates file transfer at a user-defined date and time.

Integration/Remote File Editing
Make changes to your HTML documents without having to download your web page.

Login Dependant Site Manager (NT/2000)
A user who logs in to your system can't access your CuteFTP program or Site Manager.

CuteMP3 and File Search
Search using various search engines for MP3's and other types of files.

Auto-update
CuteFTP now determines if newer version is available and downloads/installs it automatically.

Connection Wizard
Step-by-step utility designed to aid users in setting up a site.

Connection/Transfer Error Prompts
CuteFTP uses prompts to help users identify problems which may occur during the connection/transfer process. These prompts may be turned off.

Resume Queue Transfer
Automatically picks up transfers not completed before last exiting.

Log FTP Sessions
Record entire sessions to file; options to update Daily, Weekly and Monthly.

SOCKS 4 & 5 Support
CuteFTP now supports these common Firewall types.

Custom Firewall Dialog
Send specific commands to Firewall for 100% compatibility.

Tip of the Day
Provides helpful hints about functionality within CuteFTP.

FTP Site Locator
Search all your FTP sites for keywords.

Macro record/playback scripting
Use the macro recorder to record logins to sessions, transfers and file deletions, and then 'play' the macro back or launch the script from a command line for completely automated sessions. Also supports wildcards.

Additional host types added, including 'generic' host for misconfigured sites.

URL Parsing/Pasting
Allows users to copy URL's from the clipboard to CuteFTP for automatic connection to a site or downloading of a file. 

Queuing of transfers
Ability to select multiple files from various directories and queue them for later transfer.

Resume downloading
CuteFTP can resume downloading of incomplete files. This works with all FTP sites that support this feature. 

Resume uploading
When transfer is broken during upload, users may reconnect and resume at the point the transfer was broken. This feature is site dependent and is not supported by all servers.

User Interface Settings
CuteFTP is even more customizable than before.

Smart Keep Alive
Completely customizable "stealth" ping option added to help you keep connected to an FTP site. Options include: time intervals, commands list, auto-reconnect, obtain new IP address and more!

Directory comparison
Local vs. remote directory contents can be compared based on case, name, date, or size. Files that are different from each other will be highlighted. Files that are the same will not be highlighted.

Disable display of system file type icons
Greatly speeds up viewing large numbers of files.

Right click change file attributes (CHMOD)
Brings up GUI interface for easy modification of file attributes.

Auto-renaming of file extensions
Rename a file extension automatically during upload or download.

Delete to Recycle Bin
Users may delete files from the local pane in CuteFTP to the recycle bin rather than permanently deleting a file or files.

Bookmarking of remote directories
Keep track of favorite directories on remote servers.

Save filter masks for remote and directory listings. You can produce filtered listings (useful when trying to get a small piece of a large directory) by typing in a file extension or a wildcard.

Directory download and upload
Upload and download entire tree structures to/from the Internet. This feature makes mirroring of web sites easy.
